Care guide

Care notes

ZZozie

Morning

  • Wakes up around 6:30/7. Needs encouragement to get through the morning steps on time (ideally gets dressed first, eats before brushing teeth, needs to brush teeth well for 2 min).
  • Likes toast w/ butter & honey or jam, or a smoothie for breakfast (ideal for nutrients; ingredients are in the freezer, Nutribullet is in the right lower cabinet); will usually eat eggs.

Afternoon

Doesn’t nap. On weekends only, can watch or play games on the iPad after 12pm. Two hours total for the day (so if she wants movie night, she has to save time for it and limit early iPad use to 30 min).

Bedtime

~7:30pm. Gets vitamins & inhaler.

  • Vitamins will be prepared in the vitamin dispenser on the counter.
  • Needs 2 puffs of her Breyna inhaler before brushing teeth.
  • Gets a checkmark if she does all the steps in 10 min (once vitamins are given) and another if she does that by 7:30. (She needs a new checklist.)
  • Needs water by the bedside or will call out during the night.
  • Can only select one kid’s room to have audio on for the monitor (but can see both rooms at once by pressing the 2-cameras button). Have the audio on Athena — though Zozie is more likely to wake up, she can call out. Needs a light on and company to come out of her room at night; she is scared.

Medical — asthma

If she has asthma trouble: use the oximeter (on the counter); if oxygen level is below 92, take to the ER. Otherwise, call the pediatrician — you can give the albuterol inhaler (different from the Breyna she gets daily).

AAthena

Morning

  • Wakes up around 6:30/7.

Afternoon

Nap 12:30–3ish. Gets a bottle (1/4 milk, 3/4 water).

3:30pm (or 4pm): gets her sesame dose daily — 1/8 tsp of tahini, placed at the top of a pouch — at 3:30pm daily. Needs 2 hours of close monitoring afterward for a reaction.

Bedtime

  • 6:30pm (can stretch to 7pm).
  • Bath (if needed), brush teeth (use the small toothpaste for 1-year-olds), and pajamas.
  • One bottle at bedtime, filled with 1/4 milk or less and the rest water. No sleepsack needed.
  • Toilet: starting to practice — likes to do the steps and read a book while on the potty, but doesn’t actually go on the toilet yet.

Medical — sesame allergy

If she has a sesame reaction, see the allergy protocol on the Emergency tab. Zyrtec for a mild symptom; AuviQ (preferred) or Epipen for a moderate-to-severe reaction — give the initial dose, take to the ER, give the 2nd dose 5 min after the 1st dose.
